The Announcement
Emmanuel Grégoire, Paris Deputy Mayor, confirmed on Monday evening during the "Rothen s'enflamme" show on RMC that negotiations were underway for the sale of the Parc des Princes to Paris Saint-Germain. According to him, the chances that the Parisian club will continue to play in its historic stadium are estimated at "99.9%".
This official announcement helps to lift some uncertainty about the future of the stadium, which is currently owned by the City of Paris. The property transfer process therefore seems to have reached a decisive stage.
What We Know
The Parc des Princes, built in 1972, is an emblematic venue for Parisian and French football. Until now, it belonged to the municipality, which leased it to PSG. For several years, the club has wanted to secure its real estate foothold and have direct control over its stadium.
Emmanuel Grégoire indicated that discussions were advanced and that the sale should be finalized soon. No precise date or financial details have been communicated at this stage. The Deputy Mayor expressed optimism about the favorable conclusion of this matter.
It is not specified whether this acquisition will go hand in hand with renovation or expansion projects for the stadium, which could be part of a broader club development strategy.
